The admission to B.Com.I will be based on relative merit as per the instructions of the University.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.COM.
A person who has passed the Senior Secondary Certificate Part II examination of the Punjab School Education Board with groups and subjects as mentioned below, shall be eligible to join the B.Com.I class in a college affiliated to the University. However, the admission will be strictly on merit. The students from commerce group would get 7 percent weightage and those who have passed 10+2 with Maths/ Economics would get 5 percent weightage.

10+2 Commerce group with at least 40 percent marks in aggregate.
10+2 any group (other than commerce) with three of the following subjects & having secured 40 percent marks in aggregate.
a) Commerce b) Accountancy c) Economics d) Mathematics
e) Business Organization & Mgt. f) Book-Keeping and Accountancy
OR
10+2 any group other than Commerce with two of the above subjects and having secured at least 40 percent marks in the aggregate.
OR
10+2 any group other than Commerce having secured at least 50 percent marks in aggregate.
OR
Part I examination of B.Com. (Old system) of this university.
OR
Any other examination recognized by the university as equivalent to from part 1 to 5 above with the requisite group/ subjects and percentage of marks.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.COM.II
A person is eligible to join B.Com.II if she has passed B.Com.I examination of GNDU (under plus three pattern).
Any other examination recognized by the GNDU as equivalent to the examination mentioned at (i) above.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION TO B.COM.III
A person is eligible to join B.Com.III if she has passed B.Com.II examination of GNDU (under plus three pattern).
Any other examination recognized by the GNDU as equivalent to the examination mentioned at (i) above.
Transfer / Character/ Migration/ No Dues certificate from the head of the institution last attended.

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATION FOR REGULAR CANDIDATES OF B.COM.I, II & III
A candidate shall be eligible to appear in the university examination if:

  • She has been on the rolls of the affiliated college throughout one academic year preceding the examination.
  • Her name is submitted to the Controller of Examinations by the Principal of the college.
  • She has attended not less than75 percent of the total lectures delivered in her class in each of the subjects offered (to be counted upto the date of dispersal of the classes).
  • She has obtained at least 35 percent marks in each subject in the House Test or 25 percent marks in aggregate of all the subjects in the House Test held by the college during the academic year.

Provisional Admission/ Compartment
NOTE:
A student of B.Com.I/II of this college, who is placed under compartment in April 2006 examination of the GNDU, is eligible to join B.Com.II/III class provisionally. Such students will be required to qualify the compartment subject in the supplementary examinations. However, no exemption from house test will be given to appear in the supplementary examinations.

B.Com. Professional - A New Stream

At the end of second year, each student will be required to undergo compulsory practical training for about 6-8 weeks in some industrial organization and will have to submit a report thereof by Oct.31st. The project report will be evaluated as satisfactory/ unsatisfactory.

Eligibility for Admission

  • The admission to M.Com..I shall be open to any person who has obtained Bachelors Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or B.CAM or B.E-Com. with not less than 50 percent marks in the aggregate.
  • Every candidate shall be examined in the subjects according to the syllabi and course outlines prescribed from time to time and viva-voce shall be conducted by an external examiner.
