Admission on Merit Only
- Part I will have three papers of
English, in addition there will be a compulsory paper in Punjabi/ Punjab
History & Culture of 50 marks. A candidate must appear for this paper in
part I only. if a candidate fails to clear this paper in part I she must
clear it in either part II or Part III. The candidate will get the
degree only after she has cleared this paper i.e. Punjabi Compulsory.
- Part II will have four papers of English
Literature and one paper on History of England.
- Part III will have six papers of English
Literature.
Eligibility for Admission
- The Part I Honours examination shall
be open to a candidate who has passed, not less than one academic
year previously in any of the following examinations.
- Senior Secondary Certificate Part II
examination of PSEB, CBSE, ICSE.
- The eligibility condition for
admission to BA Honours Schools in English Part I according to the
Board of Control GNDU is 50 percent marks in aggregate and 50
percent marks in English.
Any other examination recognised by the University as equivalent to
any of the examination.
- Special weightage for proficiency in
English on the basis of test & interview, subject to fulfillment of
other minimum conditions.

Eligibility: The
examination shall be open to any person:

who has passed at
least one academic year previously BA with honours in the subject
concerned or Bachelor’s degree in any faculty with 50 percent marks
or Master’s Degree of this university or any other university in
another subject or another faculty.

who has been on the
rolls of a university department or a college affiliated to this
university throughout one academic year preceding the examination.

who has attended
not less than 75 percent of the full course of lectures delivered to
his class and seminar work.

- Duration of each M.A.(Mass
Communication) shall be two years divided into four semesters.
- Admission to the First Semester of M.A.
(Mass Communication) course will be open to any person who has passed
Bachelor/Master degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian
University or an 'equivalent degree recognized by the Guru Nanak Dev
University with not less than 50 percent marks.

Duration of each
M.A.(Mass Communication) shall be two years divided into four
semesters.

Admission to the First
Semester of M.A. (Mass Communication) course will be open to any
person who has passed Bachelor/Master degree in any discipline from
a recognised Indian University or an 'equivalent degree recognized
by the Guru Nanak Dev University with not less than 50 percent
marks.

Candidate will be
eligible for sitting in the examination of each Semester after being
certified for the following by the Head of the Institution of having
been enrolled in the college in the course, having a good moral
character and having attended 75 percent of the lectures delivered.

All in-service
candidates must produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ or 'Study Leave'
from the employer at the time of admission.

The candidate will be
examined in FIVE papers in three semesters (I,ll & III). In the
third semester one paper will comprise totally of practical
assignments to be evaluated by internal and external examiner.
Besides, there will be internal assessment of 50 marks each at the
end of second and fourth semester.
