Department of Music and Dance of BBK DAV College staged a theatrical production Rihayi in college premises. The play was an attempt by the students of B.Voc (Theatre and Stage Craft) to showcase their skills in various aspect of production including acting, lighting, costumes, music, make up and direction. The play centres around the torture and atrocities borne by women in jail to chase their dreams and desires.
Dr. Kewal Dhaliwal, Director, Punjab Sangeet Natak Academy, Mr. Jatinder Brar, Proprietor, Punjab Naatshala and Mr. Ravinder Robin, eminent Journalist, were guest of honour for the function.
While addressing the gathering Dr. Kewal Dhaliwal expressed his delight at the introduction of theatre as a full fledged course at graduation level in the college. He added that this course will open new horizons for upcoming artists in the field of theatre.
Mr. Jatinder Brar appreciated the efforts of the department for providing a platform for the budding artists. He further added that BBK DAV has always maintained professional standards for its theatrical production. Mr. Ravinder Robin also described the performance of the students as an amazing effort.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the team for such a mesmerizing theatrical performance. She said that BBK DAV has always been a forerunner in theatrical production in the city.
Sh. Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee & Dr. Ritu Sharma (Co-ordinator for B.Voc), along with other faculty members, also felicitated the students.
