Title: The college in collaboration with Police Department organizes an Interactive Session on Women Safety.

PG Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, BBK DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Police Department, Amritsar organized an interactive session on Women Safety in college premises. On the occasion, Mr. Rohit Chaudhary, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, Punjab was the Chief Guest. Mr. S.S. Srivastava, Commissioner of Police, Amritsar was the resource person for the programme.
While interacting with the students, ADGP Mr. Rohit Chaudhary emphasized the use of social networking sites for bridging the gap between the police and the public. He further stressed on organizing various workshops to empower women by giving them the self-defense training. He added that his department would work diligently to ensure the safety of women in the city.
In his address, Commissioner of Police, Mr. S.S. Srivastava, said that such seminars play an important role by teaching women the skills of self defense in order to deal effectively with violent encounters.
Appreciating the efforts of the Police Department, Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia said that security of women in the society is one of the major parameters to adjudge its progressiveness. She further said that BBK DAV College has always promoted community development programmes.
Sh. Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee thanked the dignitaries for sparing their valuable time. Mr. Gautam Singhal, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, City-2, Amritsar, along with faculty members of college and students were present on the occasion.
